Planning permission granted for Equestrian Park
After consultation with Bolton Local Authority and other regulators Booth Ventures received planning permission to regenerate the land at Asmus Farm Quarry. The site is located on Brookfold Lane at Harwood in Bolton.
The site was originally operated as a sandstone quarry for approximately a century, commencing in the mid-19th century until (in the 1960s) Turton Corporation turned the quarry into a domestic waste landfill. The filling continued until the 1970s when it was left derelict until the present day.
Under the permission Booth Ventures will restore the site for leisure use by importing waste soils to reprofile the land and create equestrian facilities. The proposal will also create new ecological habitats for a diverse range of local plant and animal species.
This exciting project will bring the land back into use for horse riding and through the network of retained footpaths will be enjoyed by all future site visitors. Booth Ventures is pleased to be a part of this worthwhile scheme.
