Harwood Equestian Park

Asmus Farm Quarry (as the site was originally called) was formed in the mid 1850s as a sandstone quarry to supply the Bolton area with aggregate materials for construction. In the late 1960s the site was then utilised by Turton UDC as a landfill for the disposal of domestic waste. The site is located approximately 3 miles from Bolton town centre and is within easy reach from all the surrounding areas.

Following cessation of landfilling in the 1980s the land was restored to a very poor standard and left derelict until the present day. Booth Ventures has obtained permission to regenerate the land for equestrian usage by creating good quality pasture and exciting riding tracks combined with new areas of woodland/hedge planting and various ecological habitats.

As part of this work it will be necessary to import suitable construction, demolition and excavation wastes to form the new topographical profiles. This work will be undertaken under an exemption from waste management licensing which will allow cost effective disposal prices for our customers.

Opening times: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:30, Saturday 08:00 - 12:30
