Harwood Quarry

Harwood Quarry is PPC permitted to accept both inert and non-hazardous wastes for disposal. The site covers some 50 acres and is located just 3 miles out of Bolton, within easy reach of the M60, M61 and M66 motorways.

There has been a quarry on the site since the 1850’s and it’s subsequent use as a landfill commenced in the 1960’s. The facility is engineered and operated to the highest standards and is utilised by a wide range of companies from house builders to remediation businesses and haulage ‘muck shift’ operators.

Harwood Quarry extracts blue shale, but also stocks a variety of virgin and recycled products ranging from 10-20mm pipe beddings to 6F2 bulk fill and rockery/walling stone. Fine screened ash is also available from the site for use in agricultural applications and in block making. For more details see the Aggregate Sales section or contact Booth Ventures.
