Our main responsibility, above anything else, is the health & safety of our workforce, customers or any visitors to our sites. We take all the necessary measures to create a safe environment.
We have a fully implemented health & safety management system which is managed by our Operations Director, the Operations Managers and Site Managers. All persons on any of our sites (staff, sub-contractors or visitors) must wear full PPE (helmet, high visibility clothing and steel toe capped boots with steel mid-sole).
Detailed risk assessments and method statements are in place for every activity we undertake on our sites and projects. These are frequently reviewed and amended when necessary. We provide internal training each month in the form of toolbox talks which cover regular work activities and conduct routine reviews of our operational permit to work system for dangerous activities (such as working at height, welding or un-blocking a mobile crusher).
Every new employee and visitor to each site receives our site visitor induction. New employees undertake a four-week long health and safety induction for the job they do. All visitors that are required to temporarily work on site (such as plant mechanics) must provide their own risk assessments and method statements before being permitted to work.
All our machines are regularly inspected and maintained to the highest possible standard. These regular inspections are aimed to minimise the risk of any faults before they occur, making the equipment safe for continued use. Regular servicing is also undertaken by the plant manufactures.
We’re proud of our health & safety record and plan to continue putting the health and safety of everyone as a number one priority.
